Support for Post-Study Work Visa (7'00'')

The Coalition Government was proposing to remove the right of International students to post-work study in the UK after they have finished their degree.

Students at Goldsmiths College, University of London, have put together this podcast voicing their concerns against the planned changes.

Contributors: Alex Goldberg, James Haywood, Joshua Thorpe, Lindsay Foley, Pari Trivedi, Paula Serafini, Phil Brown, Tim Crook, and Xixi Zheng (myself)

Thank you my friends who backed me up all the time. This audio programme wouldn't be done without your supports! And thanks ALL of you who signed for petition to save Post Study Work Visa!

ps. My friend Phil Brown did the links in another piece (same as this one) which we sent to MPs with the other paper works (more suitable in this case, and his voice sounds better as he's British), thanks again!

                                                                New Cross Library Occupation (4'00'')

Numbers of libraries are under threat in the UK. New Cross Library is one of them and government planned to shut it down.

This local library had been occupied from 5th to 6th mid-day on February. Occupiers want government and public hear their voices.

Listen the podcast I made above to know more details about the story.

Teen Reaction to Education Cuts (2'29'')

An EHRC report has revealed that youth unemployment has reached 20.3%, the highest level since 1992, raising fresh concerns about the lack of opportunities available for school-leavers.

According to the secretary general of the University and College Union (UCU), Sally Hunt, the government’s education cuts are betraying an entire generation of young people.

“Our young people deserve better. They have every right to feel cynical and let down. They have been failed again and again by politicians who promised before the election to vote against a rise in fees and to keep college grants”, Hunt said.

“It is not right that the next generation is being asked to pay the price for a financial crisis they didn’t create”, she added.

After protest once again took over the city centres of London and Manchester on Saturday, Lindsay Foley and Xixi Zheng have been asking sixth-formers from Lewisham whether the figures are going to effect what they choose to do after leaving school.

ps. This is a team work with my friend Lindsay Foley.

Government pledged an extra 50 million for set out digital hubs, every community across the UK will have access to super-fast broadband by 2015. Ministers says they aim for the UK to have Europe's best broadband network. Here is our reporter Xixi with the report in details.
